“I intend my style to be an evolution towards a symbolic, expressive and generous dance, which collects the ballet technique, the narrative rawness of contemporary dance and the pulse of traditional folklore to reformulate them and create its own discourse. In my work there is a constant interest in the role that the individual plays within the group and the interaction, physical and spiritual, between the dancers.”
After dancing in productions of some of the most celebrated choreographers worldwide such as Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger or Ohad Naharin, MARTÍN-SANZ develops his career as a choreographer and a teacher, creating pieces for companies and ballet schools in Spain, Japan, Greece, Poland and Romania.
