Idea

The piece tries to show the virtues and imperfections of the idealistic spirit: in one hand all the strengh, hope, joy, romanticism and rebellion. In the other the insecurities, fears, and spiritual crisis of this Century. The three composers (Melo, Velázquez, Piazzolla) unite the idealism of romantic spirit but also the uncertainty of life.

«Al tormento» is a reflection of the hope of youth, romantic and thunderous, which dreams of changing the poisoned world where it has to live in. Idealism governs a spirit that has chosen dance as a weapon, in a world that solves its problems with gunpowder and lies. However, the fears and insecurities that define that same youth, seem to be able of destroying any hope. The future, then, is no more than an uncertain and stormy fog, while fear becomes our most accurate mate. Our eyes keep shining, but their nights are never announced full of stars anymore.

But then we remember that the dance is still there. There is still music and harmony, which turn the children of tears in parents of joy. The world will continue turning and the spirits in love will go out there, armed with the unstoppable flowering of youth and the inescapable duty of hope.
